Assigning Work Orders to Internal Technicians in WorkForce for Field Tech Manager

    In WorkForce for Field Tech Manager you may

    • manually assign work orders to one or many internal technicians; and/or
    • automatically assign work orders to internal technicians based on trade and/or location.

    Manually Assigning a Work Order to FTM Technicians

    In WorkForce for Field Tech Manager you may assign a work order to one or many technicians.

    How to assign a work order to one FTM technician:

    1. Next to the desired technician, click Assign WO.

    2. Enter a Tracking Number, Work Order Number, or Service ID.
    3. Click Assign.
      • The Assign WO field next to the selected technicians updates with the number of work orders assigned.

      • At this point, the selected technicians will see the assigned work order in the FTM mobile app. See “Accepting and Managing Work Orders in FTM Mobile” for more information.

    How to assign a work order to multiple FTM technicians:

    Assigning FTM Work Orders to Multiple Internal Technicians

    1. Next to one of the desired technicians, click Assign WO.
    2. Enter a Tracking Number, Work Order Number, or Service ID.
    3. Click Add People. The modal expands, listing all of your technicians.
    4. Click the plus (+) icon next to each desired technician, or click Assign to All to select all technicians.
    5. Click Assign. The Assign WO field next to the selected technicians updates with the number of work orders assigned.
    6. At this point, the selected technicians will see the assigned work order in the FTM mobile app. See “Accepting and Managing Work Orders in FTM Mobile” for more information.

    Automatically Assigning Work Orders to FTM Technicians

    You may automatically assign work orders to technicians based on trade and location. For example, you can automatically assign technician Jacob to all plumbing work orders for 2 locations, and then assign Kyle for the internal tech for 3 different locations.

    How to Automatically Assign Work Orders:

    1. Next to one of the desired technicians, click Assign WO.
    2. Click the Automate tab.
    3. Click the Select trades drop-down, and then check the boxes next to the desired trade(s).
    4. Click the Select location drop-down, and then check the boxes next to the desired location(s).
    5. (Optional) Click Add People, and then select the desired technician(s).
    6. Click Auto-Assign. All work orders in Service Automation that are assigned to your FTM Internal Tech Group are automatically assigned to the selected technician(s) based on the specified criteria.
