About Service Requests

The Service Requests page allow you to use the Dashboard for a chosen location. The Dashboard is used to place work orders, as well as review work orders, supplies requests, and preventative maintenance requests per location. (See Service Automation Dashboard for more information.)

    Location Search

You may search for locations for which you are assigned. By default, the search criteria available are Location ID, Location Name, Location Address (including City, State and Country), Region and District. Your ServiceChannel system administrator may have setup additional search criteria through Location Notes.

    Search Criteria

The criteria used to search for a location may use one of the following terms:

    • Exact” search: The term used to search must precisely match the Location record.
      • For example: When searching for Location ID 004, only use the term 004 to search. The search will only yield one Location. Using a partial term, such as 4 or 04, will not yield Location 004 as a result.
    • Contains” search: The term used to search may include a partial term from the Location record.
      • For example: When searching for Location Address 1 Brooklyn Way, using terms such as Brook, Brooklyn, Way, or 1 will include the Location at address 1 Brooklyn Way in your results, along with any other Locations that fit the search criteria used.
    • Starting With” search: The beginning of the term used to search must precisely match the beginning of the Location record.
      • For example: When searching for Location Name CSR-Queens, using terms such as CS, CSR-, or CSR-Que will include Location CSR-Queens in your results, along with any other Locations that fit the search criteria. However, using Queens as a search term will not yield CSR-Queens as a result, since the location does not start with Queens.
    • The search criteria for each default field are listed below:

Search terms using Location Notes may use either an Exact search or a Contains search. A blank field indicates an Exact search field; a field with the words “Contains Search” indicates such a field.

    Permission-Based Location Search

Depending on your permissions, you search results may be restricted to only those Locations for which you have access. Should you only have permission to access, say, a certain Region or District, those fields will be locked to just those for which you have access.
